103 MW/206 MWh Grid-forming Energy Storage Black Start Project in Anhui Province, China
The project, located in Songtuan Town, Lieshan District, Huaibei City, had a total installed capacity of 103 MW/206 MWh, a total investment of about 400 million yuan, and a total of 61 sets of prefabricated containerized energy storage units.
Kehua provided a full-capacity AC-side solution for the project. Power conversion systems (PCS) in the power plant operated in parallel in a grid-forming manner. This solution achieves zero voltage starting of boosting transformers and 220 kV main transformers across the power plant.
The project accepted the unified dispatching by the Anhui power grid, and participated in a number of auxiliary grid services such as peak modulation, dynamic responses of frequency-modulated active power and reactive power, and black start to guarantee energy supply across the province.
