Kehua Implements 200MW/400MWh Grid-Scale Energy Storage Project in East China

The 200MW/400MWh energy storage project in East China, where Kehua provides PCS energy storage solutions, has been connected to the grid. The project is located in Shandong Province, and is the largest energy storage project in the region. The program can store 400,000 kWh of electricity on a single charge, which is equivalent to a day's electricity consumption of 60,000 households.

As a new energy storage demonstration project in Shandong Province, the customer has higher requirements for the safety, reliability, cost reduction and efficiency of the energy storage plant. After a rigorous selection, Kehua's energy storage system integration solution was ultimately selected. The solution includes 53 sets of energy storage MV skid, 105 sets of energy storage battery systems, and 1 set of an energy management system. Currently, the project has achieved grid-connected power generation with excellent parameters and indicators.

 

Each energy storage unit supplied by Kehua consists of a 3.38MW energy storage skid solution with energy storage converters and transformers, and a 6.77MWh battery integration system. Kehua energy storage skid adopts a 1500V system integration design, featuring standardized design, easy installation, high system efficiency, small footprint, easy commissioning and maintenance, which brings a lower LCOS cost and effectively improves the customer's economic benefits.

 

Furthermore, Kehua's PCS adopts a brand-new three-level topology technology, with a maximum efficiency of 99.03%; it also features an intelligent forced air cooling design, allowing full-load operation without derating even in 50°C ambient temperature conditions. The key components are designed with IP65 protection and C5 anti-corrosion grade, which can reliably withstand the complex environment in coastal areas, fully ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the power station and helping customers increase their value and revenue.

 

The reliability does not stop there. Kehua has also achieved comprehensive safety control in the battery compartment of the energy storage system. Starting from the battery cells, Kehua has implemented fire protection design from the pack level to the system level, providing multi-dimensional safety protection and further enhancing the system's overall safety.

  

The project can not only effectively solve the problem of wasted solar & wind power in new energy field stations, but also be included in the unified dispatch management of Shandong Power Grid, participating in the province's power auxiliary, grid peaking, energy storage capacity leasing and other services, and contributing to the transformation the region's energy structure to green and low-carbon.

 

At present, Kehua's 1500V energy storage technology has been widely used around the world due to its technical advantages of high safety, high reliability and significant cost reduction and efficiency.
