Tirol, Austria — Kehua Tech has successfully delivered and connected a state-of-the-art large-scale battery storage system for the Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe (IKB) at the Obere Sill Hydropower Plant. According to Tirol ORF, the regional branch of Austria's national public broadcasting service, “This is the first of its kind in Tirol and is intended to help balance fluctuations in power supply. It can also play an important role during power outages.” This pioneering project marks a significant milestone in Tirol’s transition towards a more flexible and reliable energy future.

As the turnkey solution provider, Kehua supplied a comprehensive battery storage system that integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure. The system has been designed to enhance energy stability, support renewable integration, and improve overall grid resilience.

The project features advanced inverter technology, which is less temperature-dependent, better protected against extreme weather conditions such as snow and ice, and equipped with noise reduction measures. These improvements ensure reliable operation under various environmental conditions, aligning with IKB’s goal of securing a sustainable and resilient energy supply. Additionally, Kehua offers fast delivery and installation, ensuring quick deployment that minimizes disruption and respects the natural surroundings. 

Kehua’s team worked closely with IKB throughout the project, from design and manufacturing to installation and commissioning. The system is now fully operational and connected to the grid, contributing to Tirol’s efforts to modernize its energy landscape.
